I know what you’re thinking…totally boring, right?
WRONG.
Yes, yes, the July Fourth parade did have the usual assortment of flag-wielding policemen, school bands, as well as boy and girl scouts, but it also had…these guys!
The parade also had its fair share of firetrucks. Toopweets, a major fan of big, shiny vehicles, was in heaven.
We then proceeded to a street fair which had…A TRAIN.
I will channel my son’s thoughts upon seeing this lovely sight: “A train! A train! A TRAIN THAT YOU CAN RIDE ON, OMG. I’m drooling from the excitement. And the goddamn teething. Someone get me a pretzel, strap me in this thing, and let’s crank this [redacted] UP!”
Needless to say, trains are another favorite of his.
We rode it twice.
Cue obligatory shots of me with the boy (and my new bangs)…
…as we made our way out of the fair, we spotted someone. Someone very special to Toopweets, who, along with firetrucks and trains, made the trifecta of his very favorite things complete:
Can you not see the glee on this child’s face? In the interest of full disclosure, I suspected that Elmo had found this quiet, secluded park bench away from the throngs of children in order to take a break, kick up his fur booties and have a smoke, but I DID NOT CARE. Elmo is a golden god in our home, and we were getting a picture.
(Good Lord! What’s become of me?!)
A good time was had by all, and the best part…
He went to bed an hour early.
On a wholly unrelated note, I must discuss the following two things:
1. I recently spied this snack and thought to myself, “This is perhaps the vilest combination of flavors in the history of anything ever. I must try it.” Um, it’s…not bad. In fact, it's sort of good.I know I’ve said that I’ll try (and like) most anything, but this is a stretch even for me.
2. Now to take the attention off of me and my questionable palate, can we talk about this show? (And how I’ll totally be watching it?) My mind, it is blown.

The bangs! YAY FOR THE BANGS!
Oh, and Toopweets in the crib? *kissing the screen*
Love the bangs.
Love how his hair looks like a tiny toupee (and I mean that in the best way possible, really).
LOVE how he sleeps!
And am DYING to try that snack.
Though I am too drunkety-drunk-drunk to link, I have a newish post of my newish bangs...
Told you.
The bangs look FOXY ;)
And Toopweets is TOO SWEET!
Elmo, however, kind of freaks me out in that size. A little creepy, maybe?
Oh, I absolutely will be checking out Mr. Baio's foray into reality TV. Absolutely.
Lovely bangs, adorable child--scary, scary Elmo. ;)
Love the bangs. I am having my own private little count down until the Scott Baio show starts. I'm such a reality TV slut, but I just can't get enough!
Now I'm feeling guilty for posting a bunch of travel photos! :0
The bangs look great!
I wish I could get my bangs to look like yours! They look great.
And speaking of hair: your child has the single most impressive head of hair that I have EVER seen on a little guy! It's SO cute.
The bangs look hot.
So anytime I see pictures of Toopweets I think "he is such a toddler and so much bigger then Babboo!" And then I remember that Babboo is a little older then Toopweets. I guess I forget my kid isn't such a baby.
When I saw the picture of him sleeping I was reminded that he is a little guy. Damn, he's adorable.
I heard that Scott Baio isn't really single. He's been with his same girlfriend for years. It was just an "act" for the show. Have you heard that?
The bangs of cuteness! Love them.
Toopweets is such a sweetie. Look at all that hair!
And I am so glad we're getting cable tomorrow, because goddamn, that show is going to be the first thing I set up the DVR to record.
OMG> I heart you and your family. Kissy kissy to Toopweets, and hugs for you.
whoorl - Aww, thanks! Oh, and that picture is now my computer's wallpaper. :)
maliavale - It DOES totally look like a tiny toupee, Trumpesque in its overall appearance. The boy has had THREE haircuts already. That's more than I've had this year. Also, pretty please try the snack and let me know what you think, m'kay?
whiskeymarie - Girl, I told you once before, but I'll say it again. The bangs are amazing, and you look hot with 'em.
angella - Thanks; Foxy is the word of the day. ;) And I must admit, I think that I was more frightened of Elmo than any of the children were. He was definitely creepy.
liz - You MUST watch it. I cannot wait for this shit to air. Also, thank you for your kind words. :)
anniem - Thank you, too! I as well am obsessed with reality TV. I even watch My Super Sweet 16. It's a problem.
180/360 - No, I was really only referring to my own experience when I once got stuck looking at someone's FOUR ALBUMS of Greek ruins, complete with their running commentary. Scarred me for life. :)
Rebcram - Thanks, yo! And re: T's hair...have I mentioned his THREE HAIRCUTS in the past year? THREE.
Isabel - Why, thank you! And I think T's hair makes him look older than he is. I hadn't heard that about the show...how scandalous! Though I'm still totally watching it. :)
Nabbalicious - Ooh, thanks! And yes, pretty please watch the show so that we can dissect it ad infinitum? Thanks. :)
GG - We heart you, too! :)
You have the biggest, goofiest, most endearing smile in the whole universe.
A- You look way too young to have a baby. The bangs keep you youthful...love it.
B- The parade does teeter on lame, but when you consider that Elmo was there, you redeemed yourself
C- There is no C point, I thought I had more to say and two bullets don't look as good as three so I am just going to ramble on and on on my C point so it looks like I am saying something important.
Personally I hate a parade, but with an awe-struck kid it's probably a lot more fun.
I keep forgetting I even have VH1, but I may need to check out that Baio trainwreck. Thanks for the heads-up.
the bangs? awesome!
toopweets? munchable!
the family? beautiful!
parades and elmo? i motherfucking hate them!
the snack? i'd totally eat it but then, i'll eat almost anything.
the baio? can't wait to watch another trainwreck. i wonder if he'll don on the jean jacket and bandanas? and what the hell was he thinking dating joannie? erin was soooo not a looker!!!!
Toopweets is so adorable. I only wish he were holding an ear of corn in one of those pictures.
I can't tell you how sad I am that I don't get VH1, but the description of the show you linked to almost makes up for it. "Staring down the barrel of middle age." "The end of his philandering rope." There's not nearly this kind of humiliation of has-beens on broadcast TV.
I totally dig Toopweets... and his hair! I know I keep bringing up his hair, but it possesses so much fabulocity that I'm compelled to compliment.
I am such a sucker for bad VH1 reality TV, it's embarrassing. My Fair Brady? Check. Celebrity Fit Club? All seasons? Check. Breaking Bonaduce. Um, yesss...
But I have to say, I miss Pop Up Video so bad it hurts sometimes.
p.s. Bangs = GOOD!
