...Of this I have NO doubt. Here goes:
1) Let's say that you're in a total music funk, and are looking for some new songs. (Note: The exception to this music funk is my elation at the discovery of the song "Keepsake" by State Radio, which came into my life last week, and with which I have fallen deeply in love. Download that shit now, people.) WHAT SONGS WOULD YOU DOWNLOAD?? (My musical tastes run very wide, so feel free to suggest pretty much any song that you're into.)
2) Would it be tacky if I showed you a picture of my anniversary present?
3) You know how I have this habit of mentioning things and then not following through? Like promising to tell you about how I saw Fabio, or my plan to do a big-ass Q&A post based on your questions, or how I was going to perform a karaoke version of "Total Eclipse of the Heart" for Amaretto, my pregnant friend who is bored on bedrest?
Well, enough is enough. I'm going to do all of these things very soon, but...which would you like to see first? And since I think I know the answer already, do I have to go to an actual karaoke bar to perform, or can I break in my new karaoke machine?
Thanks in advance, guys!

Post a picture of the present.
As far as music goes... how many songs do you want? And what kinds of music do you absolutely hate?
two words:
Damien. Rice.
you won't be sorry.
ps. he's also irish AND smokin' hot.
(and if you have heard of him...try Pedro the Lion. and Sunna. amazing/ and i have TONS more if you want)
1. Being new to the Nano, I have been a downloading nightmare.
Lately, though, it's been 90's music and Christmas tunes (Boney M, baby!)
But I really like Josh Groban. And Justing Timberlake. What are the odds that they would do a duet?
2. Yes - PLEASE.
3. I really like the karaoke, but I want you to do them all. Can you do one of your posts where you cover them all and I pee myself laughing the whole time?
xoxoxo
1- Rodrigo y Gabriella - funky acoustic
Jason Mraz- I have a strange crush on him because his voice...is like buttah.
2-Not tacky at all. Show away!
3-Your poor friend on bedrest! She's waiting and so are we!
i'm sorry, i'm stuck on the foo fighters and i can't stop. I'M OBSESSED! it's truly a problem with me.
anyway, enough of me. i would like a karaoke performance, if you please! NOW!!
1) Um, I want to be a music snob! Sadly, I'm not. Although I do love Wideawake and they aren't well known. I also like Ashlee Simpson so, you know, grain of salt. Whatever.
2) Not tacky and besides it's YOUR BLOG. But, please! Show! And if the vote doesn't lean towards show, e-mail?
3) I think you should answer the questions during the pauses of the song. Is that a bit too demanding? But living-room karaoke is totally as fantastic.
1. I am kind of into Kelly Clarkson right now. I know! The shame!
2. Is your anniversary present a karaoke machine? If so, yes. If it is a giant cubic zirconia, then it is tacky whether you show it to us or not, but I want to see it anyway.
3. I like She Likes Purple's answer. But you already answered the question I asked you, so screw everyone else!
I am sorry for this retarded comment. I am all hopped up on coffee.
music - 'Listen Up!' by The Gossip is a great song. And I am loving Anoushka Shankar and Karsh Kale's new album 'Breathing Under Water'.
definitely want to see the present!
bring on the karaoke!
I am in love with Alicia Keys new album...one song in particular "Lesson Learned" coming in at a close 2nd is "Like you'll never see me again".
I think you should post everything you want espeically your anniversary gift!
1. Present! Present! (said in my head the way the Little Ceaser's guy would say "Pizza! Pizza!")
2. I just downloaded by Muse, "Starlight" and by Silversun Pickups - "Lazy Eye." I am also kind of in love with Peter, Bjorn, & John's "Amsterdam"
3. Take videos of all karaoke endeavors.
Definitely want to see a picture of the anniversary present.
Patiently waiting for video of the karaoke challenge. Your dear friend won't be pregnant forever...
I recommend Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer to everyone I know.
I want to see the anniversary present incorporate INTO the karaoke video.
I rarely like music in which girls sing (I'm an awful feminist) but right now I'm digging The Bird and The Bee as well as Nouvelle Vague (lovely french chicks doing covers of 80s new wave).
I would accept the machine- but since we are losing a bit of the humiliation factor by you doing this in the privacy of your home, I think a costume of some sort is in order.
And if you could work in a dance routine of some sort as well we'd appreciate it.
Oh dear, I love recommending music:
Back In Your Head - Tegan and Sara (really, anything by them)
Something I Must Tell You - Aberfeldy
July, July! or ANYTHING AT ALL by The Decemberists
The Funeral - Band of Horses
It Don't Matter - Donovan Frankenreiter Band
Postcards From Paraguay - Mark Knopfler
Elephant Fun - Beirut
There are so many, many more... but I will leave it at that for now :)
And I totally think you should have to be in public for the karaoke challenge ;)
Shoot, that is Elephant GUN, by Beirut - not Elephant Fun. Sorry!
SHOW ME THE PRESENT!
Also, sometimes downloading movie soundtracks is a good way to get introduced to new artists. I recommend The Last Kiss soundtrack; lots of goodies on there.
Two words: show tunes. ;-)
Oh, and I also love Jason Mraz. He could sing me the phone book, and I'd still turn to jello.
Also still loving Paolo Nutini, but the radio geeks are trying to kill my love for him by overplaying his music.
But why ask me? I've had my head buried in research and Baroque music, so I'm pretty out of it. Now, if you want some good JS Bach tunes... I'm the chick with all the answers. ;-)
Picture of the present! YES!!!
