So, lists are My New Thing now, it seems.

1. Happy New Year to my fellow Jewish friends!

2. I hadn’t really verbalized this here, but I was starting to get the eensiest bit worried about the fact that Lo didn’t really seem interested in the whole walking thing. I mean, she was cruising, and she was getting the CONCEPT of walking, kind of, but her idea of getting it was “one step, two step, fling self bodily towards parent.” We'd decided that if she really wasn’t progressing by 15 months, I’d call the pediatrician and try to pass it off like I was casually speaking, all breezy-like, when in fact I was reading from a prepared page wherein I'd outlined my concerns, and as such, we would then undoubtedly have a super-stilted conversation where I would say things like “I am well, thank you for inquiring.” (Am I the only person that WRITES SCRIPTS for Difficult Conversations?) Well. As luck would have it, she took a whole mess of steps yesterday (15 months old TO THE DAY, wouldn’t you know). Every time she did, we’d lavish praise upon her, to the point that when we didn’t leap around shrieking “YAYYYYY!” and clapping, she would give us this quizzical look, all “Are you not recalling what comes next?” Clearly, this is an excellent precedent to have set.

3. It’s my birthday on Saturday. And I tell you, HONESTLY, that I completely forgot until J brought it up this morning. Isn’t that sad?

4. Regarding my last post, I did, in fact get to meet someone from Mad Men; specifically, January Jones. I know. I KNOW. I’m writing a whole post about that (as well as some of the other people I spoke to and events I attended at Fashion Week) for BlogHer, and I’ll post a link once that’s up. Also? While I’m on the subject of future posts, I have an “Ask a Jew” post I’ve been working on FOREVER, which will be posted soon. (I haven’t forgotten!)

5. So, it was a resounding “YES” on the release of my workout playlist, then. It's an ever-evolving, work in progress, so feel free to add your favorites! Wait--scratch that; PLEASE add your favorites!

I love your workout playlist! It's scarily similar to mine. For the laugh factor (and because it's totally awesome), one of my favourites on my playlist is Good Vibrations by good ole' Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch. Even though I'm giggling the whole way through it, it has a fantastic beat. Also, some Metallica and Offspring are guaranteed to keep me moving.

You workout playlist is very similar to mine as well. You should add Sexy Bitch by David Guetta, it's the ultimate workout song.

My own personal favorites are pretty similar. (Although I prefer "7 Things" to "Hoedown Throwdown.") That said, here are a few gems that you might like, but not yet have:

Weapons of Mass Destruction - The Crystal Method
I KNOW. It sounds awful, but...It was used in some of the previews for one of the Bourne movies. I tend to envision myself as a badass action movie heroine when I run to this. (Any music that lets me pretend I'm in my own personal music video? Works for me.)

With David Bowie - Veruca Salt
See You Again - Jenny Bliss
Into the Nightlife - Cyndi Lauper (it's the refrain that's so catchy.)
Star to Fall (Club Mix) - Cabin Crew
Summer Rain (Zander Radio Edit) - Slinkee Minx (I tend to refer to this as a "zoolander radio edit." Dork.)

And to finish it off...

Top Gun Anthem (Harold Faltemeyer) from the Top Gun Soundtrack. - Seriously. Put this at the end, and use it as your cool down song. (I stole this idea from an instructor who used to teach a great spinning class at my gym.) You'll feel like a dork, maybe. But no one can hear the magic on your iPod, so who cares?

I totally script out difficult conversations, but when it's go time I chicken out and stammer "well, I, uh, no, everything's fine..."

Happy almost birthday! I knew it was coming up because Facebook told. me. I love Facebook for that.

How exciting for Lo! I would also like praise and applause every time I take steps. Or at least every time I get out of bed and come to work. Can you do that? :)

Some of my favorite workout songs to add to your mix, that is if I ever do find a cure to my Lazies and actually work out:

City is at War - Cobra Starship
I Don't Feel Like Dancing - Scissor Sisters
Entourage - Omarion

Time is Running Out by Muse is a great workout tune. My workout mix features a lot of Muse stuff actually. It's got the perfect blend of fast beats and a male singer with a sexy, scruffy voice to keep me motivated.

I totally! write scripts for difficult conversations. But I always end up scribbling them and then they are mostly unreadable which is not quite so helpful, it turns out.

Also: I firmly maintain that Pump It! is THE BEST work-out song ever.

I also have "On a Boat" on my running mix because smiling while running is sort of my favorite thing to do. It tricks everyone (including me!) into thinking I love! running! and that nope! it doesn't hurt at all! (HAAAAAA.)

I have a bunch of these same songs on my "work out" playlist, though I really don't ever work out. I think about running though when I listen to the playlist so it counts, right?

Maria - Blondie
Californication - Red Hot Chili Peppers
I Ran So Far- Flock of Seagulls
Poker Face- Lady Gaga

Rusted Root - Martyr
See if you can keep from doing the "boobie shimmy" while listening to that one!
:)

How old are you going to be? I'd have to guess 25 if I based it on how you look in person but 30 if I had to guess based on how you come across in email.

huzzah! can't wait for some good franken-LO video! ;)
um, whatever, I *may* have a song from Camp Rock on my workout playlist...um, and more than one Miley Cyrus. oh, and something by Carrie Underwood. GAH.

Freakishly similar.
FREAKISHLY I SAY!

YAY Lo! Also, if you're interested in a play list addition: Gnarles Barkley - Run. Something about Cee Lo screaming, RUN at me over and over again makes me feel like I should.

Lots of similar workout song choices! You've got to add Basement Jaxx - Take Me Back To Your House. It's a great one that always gets me started when I'd really rather just, I don't know, go sit somewhere and eat Nutella from the jar.

Most excellent list. Now, will you buy me a new iPod to replace my SECOND DAMN BROKEN ONE IN TWO YEARS OMG?

Yo.

I just got an ipod in July and finally started to put music on it today. Totally copied so many of your tunes. You have awesome taste. Thanks for posting this. It was a great place for me to start!

A workout list should include something by Pitbull. :) My favorites:

Crazy, Fuego, Ay Chico, and Hotel Room.

Also:

Universal Mind Control by Common
Lean Like a Cholo by Down
Boom Boom Pow by Black Eyed Peas
3 by Britney Spears (it's her new one!)
Let It Rock by Kevin Rudolf
Dangerous by Akon
Elevator by Flo Rida
Temperature by Sean Paul

That is about 1/8 of my list. :) Thanks for sharing yours!
