There's an easier step.1. Go to hair salon.2. Pay lady to dye your hair. That's what I do, and it's why I have the prettiest rainbow colored pubes in all the land.
I love it! Much better then all the girls in high school that ended up with varying shades of bright magenta hair.
Wow, your hair looks great and who knew it would only require 16 easy steps!
BEAUTIFUL! Yours turned out WAY better than mine did a few days ago. Seeing as how I tried to go blond, turned it orange, went to the salon to fix it, and now it's sort of two colors. Bleck.
Very pretty and subtle! (Which is the best when changing one's color, I think!)
I was all ready to tell you how pretty is is (AND IT IS!) but the visual of Adam's comment has shaken me.
This looks great! It makes me start considering...hmmm...
Lovely! And you remembered that everything's better with jazz hands. :-)
Oh my GAWD I love it!!!!
Am jealous. I have tried to dye my hair red countless times (okay, twice) and everytime (OK, twice) it came out orange (no, really really orange). I look like Ronald McDonald.
I like the red on you...very sassy and cute! It makes your face pop!Wow, I sound like a gay hairdresser.
Ooh! Love it. I so wish I could do the same. I adore red. But my hair is SO dark it doesn't take color, and if it does? Orange. I'll just ooh and aah over yours.
Really nice for your first time! I'm impressed you went with the brush applicator. If you want to go right out of the box, I like the "Perfect 10" line. Only 10 minutes, and a super-easy applicator. Be prepared to fade--that's the only downside about going red!
Step 15 is the best step!! hehe
Hahaha. Yep, that's about it.One time I did red with a manic panic dye in a rental which involved my husband rinsing my hair out with a HOSE in an apartment parking lot in 50 degree whether. Brilliant! You look great.
It looks amazing! I've tried to dye my hair red COUNTLESS times, but I think it's just too dark to begin with. Doesn't stop me from trying over and over and over again. :)
it looks lovely. understated and gorgeous. and just right for your skin tone.
I didn't realize you were coloring it yourself! That's way braver than paying someone to do it for you. Red is such a tricky color. You did a good job picking out the right shade. I tried to go red(ish) recently and it was kind of a hot mess.
Super cute! I love it.
It looks awesome...but I especially love your mad karate kid moves! I had mine red once...it made my face look green. I can't color my own hair. You are brave. I think it was Dolly Parton in Steel Magnolias who said "never trust a woman who does her own hair". But you obviously mastered it. And showed up Ralph Machio to boot!
i like it and think you could go with an even stronger shade. does your hubby like it?
Gosh darn that's a good looking red head of hair. Congratulations.
Your hair looks great.
Oh I LOVE it!
Love the hair! And yes, the smelly stuff is bleach. Blech. But pretty pretty hair!
You look great! I'm too much of a baby to dye my hair now. It's finally recovered from many years of abuse!
gorgeous! I totally want to go red now!
I love it! And Not just because of the graphics, either.
It looks fantastic.I cheat and pay someone to do it for me. I do not trust myself. If I can't cook, what makes me think that I can dye my hair?
Hilarious! The post, not your hair. The hair is gorgeous, as are you.
So pretty! I went auburn my freshman year of college and never looked back. People think it is my natural color. I always say "it should've been." Although I now go between that and light golden brown which comes out auburny on me. Glad you took the plunge.
Love it! You're adorable.
Looks awesome!! I just dyed my hair for the second time using FFekai and I LOVE it. So easy, so natural, and bonus Sephora points. You can't get that at the salon...also, no wild dancing at the salon.
AAHHH!SO PRETTYYY!(as a long time reddish head, BUY THE FANCY SHAMPOO!! Brassy is not pretttyy!!)
You did this AT HOME? Now I'm ever more impressed -- I just assumed you went to a fancypants hair salon. BRAVO!
Um so I have a secret. I love that hair color a lot more than my NATURAL red hair. :)
Gorgeous! I keep trying to dye my hair brown and it keeps turning reddish. Yet when I dye my hair red, the color lasts about a week.
I haven't done my hair myself since high school, and doing it myself was usually code for "turning my hair purple" sigh.It looks awesome!
That looks awesome!
It looks awesome! I didn't realize you were doing it yourself. The one time I tried to do that, it turned pink. So that's why I pay someone! It turned out SO GOOD! HAWT!
You looked gorgeous before, and you look gorgeous now. Gorgeous and SASSY.
looks lovely! Great job-especially considering it was your first time. Not Orphan Annie-ish at all- but let's see a home perm :)
#6 made me yelp "HA!" so loud that my husband demanded to know what I was reading. Also enjoyed Step #14. And of course the end result looks fantastic :)
Okay, I know this is MONTHS after this post, but after working up some courage I finally took the plunge and bought a box of dark brown FF dye. Being a hair virgin myself I had no idea what I was getting into. The color turned out a lot nicer than I expected BUT how did you not create a HUGE mess in the process?? I have hair your length and I got dye all over my clothes/neck/floor...everywhere! Now maybe I'm an uber-slob, but cleaning up was seriously a pain in the ass, almost making it not worth it. Any tips on how to keep things neater when applying dye to really long hair? And how has the color turned out now 4 months after the application? Are you doing touch-ups or letting it grow? Lots of questions, so no worries getting back to me in a rush :) Just trying to get some first-hand experience tips :)
