New Gigs, Old Gigs, and a Question

I just started a few new gigs, about which I'm seriously excited:
This week, you can also find me at BlogHer, talking about my favorite fancy beauty steals (perfect stocking stuffers/holiday gifts!), all $25 and under.

On a wholly unrelated note, I haven't done an Ask A Jew post in a while, and given the time of year, does anyone have any Chanukah-specific questions? (Or is this one of those holidays that everyone has all figured out?) If so, let me know in the comments! Either way, I will be here eating ALL OF THE LATKES, EVER. ALL OF THEM.

Have a great weekend!

I just want your latke recipe because those look delicious. And I answered all my own Chanukah questions when I did research for my post yesterday!

The latke does look delicious, so I second the request for a recipe.

I love the Ask A Jew posts. I do have a question about Chanukah, but it's more a how do we merge Christmas and Chanukah without offending anyone? Our family is mixed and everyone goes to FIL on Christmas morning. I'd like to incorporate something Chanukah-y but have absolutely no idea what would be appropriate. I have never actually discussed religion with the Jewish members of the family, so I have no idea how orthodox they are.

Can't wait to check out the beauty finds.
I have a few Jewish friends and we Unitarian Universalists talk about Jewish holidays quite a bit in church (such liberal heathens we are). What I never really have had a clear answer to? (and what I will now ask you to answer for everyone Jewish. LOL) Is it disrecpectful to have a menorah in your home if you are not Jewish? If my son is learning about it at church, I thought maybe we should get one, but I get mixed responses from folks that I would be doing something completely disrespectful if I did that.
Hope that's not a stupid question.
Best,
Tina

So this isn't an Ask A Jew question but I'm wondering if you have advice for someone visiting New York? I used to live in Charleston, SC so I know tourists can be annoying.

But I'm wondering if I should dress a certain way to fit in better. Does everyone wear heels all the time? I'm guessing my Vera Bradley bag should be switched out for a sensible leather one. Should I bring lots of cash for cabs and stuff? I guess I'm hoping for an Ask A New Yorker edition....

This is probably a stupid question that you've answered before, but how in the heck do you spell Hanukah? I've seen it with a "c" as you spelled it, with an H, with two "n"s, with one "n." I'm confused. I just want to wish my friends a Happy _____________. Thanks!

I am making latkes tonight.

What's your opinion is it just sour cream? or just apple sauce? Or both.

I am a both kind of girl.
