Review: Dove Nutrium Moisture Body Wash

Every year around this time, I feel it coming, and it arrives without warning.
Oh, people LOVE to romanticize cooler temperatures, and crisp fall air, but beneath the autumnal leaf veneer, I know what’s coming: DRY SKIN. NOOOO.
I was recently asked by BlogHer and Dove to review Dove Nutrium Moisture Body Wash. Not knowing what Nutrium was, but intrigued by the “moisturizing body wash” part, I happily signed on, hoping that it would help me stave off any cool weather-related dry skin woes.
Now, ordinarily when I review products, I like to take a picture of myself using them, but there are some lengths to which I will not go. Suffice it to say that I did utilize the body wash in the shower. Swearsies.

I’m a fan of a good rich lather, and the Dove Nutrium Body Wash had it is spades. It quickly and cleanly rinsed away, but left my skin nicely moisturized. I was also pleasantly surprised by the scent. I’m a bit persnickety when it comes to scented products, but this was very light; it smelled clean and fresh on my skin in the shower, but didn’t compete with my perfume at all once I was out and dressed. The true proof of the body wash’s effectiveness came a bit later--I didn’t need to slather my legs with body butter like I usually do this time of year. I’m not certain if I’ll completely be able to swear off my beloved body butter as we ease into winter, but the Dove Nutrium Moisture Body Wash body wash is definitely going to be a part of my routine.

While we’re on the subject of routines, I have a few little things I do each day, that make me feel…centered. I don’t mean in some hippie, sage-burning drum circle way (UNLESS THAT IS YOUR THING OH MAN I AM NOT JUDGING), but rather, just...ready for the day. I shower at night before I go to sleep, and when my alarm goes off at 5:45, I hop out of bed (as much as anyone ever hops at 5:45 AM), and get myself together. I apply my sundry face lotions and makeup, slip on my outfit (like a toddler, I pick out my clothes the night before), and head out into the city. I try to get my brain running by catching up on my Words With Friends games, and once I arrive at my destination, I pick up my morning iced coffee (light and sweet, please) and head upstairs to my office, ready to face the day. I love my routine, and taking those few moments to myself to nourish ME, inside and out. (Did I just say that? I just said that.)
What about you? Do you have a YOU routine? How do you nourish yourself each day?
Answer that question, and you will be entered to win a random drawing for a $100 SpaFinder gift card!

I love Dove. I use the Sensitive Skin body wash. Very light scent, no harsh crap to deal with. Just smooth skin.

I second Dove Sensitive skin body wash. I have very sensitive skin, as does my son, and neither one of us have a problem with this.

I take anywhere from 5 - 10 minutes every morning to read whatever book I happen to be reading. It invariably makes me late and I end up running around the house like a crazy person and slapping sandwiches for lunch together like a disgruntled Subway worker, but I refuse to give up those special minutes of me time.

Ooh I love Dove bodywash--it is super moisturizing! Every night before I go to sleep I pick out what I'm wearing the next day and pack my bag so I have everything I need (workout clothes, water bottle, book). It makes the morning go so much smoother.

Coffee and the newspaper help me get going in the morning.

I shower at night, too, and this body wash sounds lovely!

Ever since I started to use the Oil Cleansing Method to clean my face that has become my ritual. It's basically a mini-facial and I try to take my time a relax while steaming my face.

I'm skeptical about body wash. Won't I spend a ton more money than just using bar soap?? But. If it moisturizes more, I'd possibly consider it.

Morning routine? I aim to get breakfast in my mouth in one sitting. Dare to dream.

I am FOR SURE a creature of habit and I'd love to win. But honestly, I wanted to comment just to ask what body butter you use, because MAH SKIN NEEDS MOISTURE! :) Any recommendations?

Before I go to bed, I use olive oil to clean my skin and I let the hot washcloth sit on my face for a full minute. It's the quietest minute I get all day :)

I have a whole *process* for going to bed at night...my poor husband gives me a 15 minute head start! But hey, if it makes me happy at the end of a long day, why not, right??? (c: Thanks for the great giveaway, Dove!

My mother taught me to always remove my makeup at night and to moisturize every day. It's something of a ritual, and even on days I don't have time to shower (thanks to my little one), I still feel like my face is fresh.

My daily routine is a morning shower. That's the only routine I can muster. Sometimes I get in a blow-dry, other times I can manage 5 minutes to put on some make-up, but they aren't "givens".

I nourish myself by drinking at least 32 ounces of water a day!

I'm the solo parent to a toddler in the mornings, and have been trying to get up to do a quick morning yoga practice. While I love getting in the workout before work, I can't handle more of a workout than that right now. I do the yoga in my pjs, added bonus. Since we are on a budget, I make myvown iced coffee the night before & it is delicious! That's about it beyond the normal shower/dressed/out the door mayhem.

I shower at night too. I find it make the morning so much easier since my hair is already dry and all I have to do is get dressed and put on makeup before I can leave.

My self-nourishing time is on the train on the way to work. Most people wouldn't think of public transportation/the subway as NOURISHING, but they are time semi-alone (no one is talking at me), so it totally counts.

Since I am in the middle of my 1st trimester, my me time in the morning is to get some food in my stomach as fast as possible. I also like to be able to wake up before my 3 year old, but that is not always possible!

With a three month old, it's tricky to have a regular routine, but here is the one I try for:

Waking up, feeding the little one, and having her fall asleep on my chest for another two hours (so I can sleep a bit more and actually feel rested). Once we are both up for the day, I make some coffee, enjoy some morning snuggles with the wee one, and turn on some holiday music.

Also? That Dove body wash is insanely fantastic.

I nourish me each day by washing my face right away (even if we don't have any pressing plans for the day) and I make our bed. It helps me feel on top of things.

DON'T JUDGE.

I set my coffee maker to brew each morning so it is ready when I wake up and I always indulge in some yummy flavored creamer. I wake up before everyone else and have a few minutes, just me and my coffee.
