A List of Seven Things I Recently Bought and Wholeheartedly Endorse

I have this thing where if I buy something and I love it, I don't shut up about it, and want to share it with the world, so we can all hold hands and frolic, whilst enjoying the magical wonder of it all. If I worked for the UN, there would be peace, is what I'm saying, because I have all the solutions.

So:

Loving Right Now

1. NARS LIPSTICK IN DAMAGE My color blind dad is obviously doing the color descriptions at Sephora, because "sheer muted grape" this is not. It is, however, super pretty. If I could pick a perfect, ideal lip color, this would be it. Pinky, sheer perfection. Here I am, wearing it. (New hair color, what up.)

2. HARNEY & SONS HOT CINNAMON SUNSET TEA It's somehow naturally sweet (cinnamon? Witchcraft? Who am I to say?), and so it doesn't need any honey. It also has a bit of a kick. If you don't like cinnamon, this probably isn't for you. (Come on, cinnamon haters, wouldn't it have been awesome if I tried to convince you otherwise, all, I PROMISE YOU WILL LOVE THIS TEA THAT IS ACTIVELY CALLED " HOT CINNAMON SUNSET"? Like people always do to me with their raisin-centric dish, the one they are certain will shake me of my raisin-hating ways? STOP WITH THE RAISINS. IT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. The cinnamon is the raisin of this situation, in case that was unclear.)

3. JOHN FRIEDA FULL REPAIR PROTECTING ROOT LIFT FOAM Two things you should know about me: 1. I judge beauty products by their scent. Like, it's a key factor in my decision-making process, despite whatever extreme efficacy said beauty product might have. 2. I have a large stockpile of pricey, college tuition-costing beauty products at home, but I have a small MacGyver-like bag of drugstore accoutrements in my office at work to account for most beauty/fashion-related situations there. Well, three things: I am afraid of lighthouses. Bearing all of this in mind (minus the lighthouses, but I really wanted to make sure I was giving you the full picture), I recently stumbled across this stuff at Rite-Aid, and you guys, it smells SO GOOD. I keep it in my desk drawer, and it punches up my hair/roots, but in a natural, subtle way, that is not at all mall-hair-ish. Did I mention it smells SO GOOD? Also, it contains Inca Ichi oil, which I keep seeing everywhere, and have thus concluded that there is soon going to be an exciting and sexy anthropomorphic West Side Story dance-fight between Inca Ichi oil, and Argan oil. THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE.

4. PHILOSOPHY AMAZING GRACE PERFUME ROLLERBALL I've long been intrigued by the rollerball concept, but never found a perfume I liked that came in that form. Recently, I kept smelling this gorgeous, subtle perfume on someone at work, and loved it so much that I needed to casually inquire about it without (I hope) seeming creepy. When I saw it came in a rollerball version, I was even more excited. Based on the perfume notes description, this isn't normally something I would have gone for, but I bought it, and am now creepily sniffing my own arm! A fairy tale ending, if ever there was one.

5. MAYBELLINE BABY LIPS LIP BALM IN GRAPE VINE STOP JUDGING ME  AND JUST TRY IT ALREADY.

6. PILOT EASY TOUCH PRO PEN Are you particular about pens? I am not quiiiiite insane, but I strongly veer in the direction of blue ballpoint, medium point pens, and these are my new favorite. My handwriting continues to be the worst, but at least I FEEL better about it, writing with this bad boy. Which I will probably lose tomorrow.

7. "HELLO" -- MARTIN SOLVEIG AND DRAGONETTE I have had this on repeat for a few days now, and it's on current rotation in our "Now That's What I Call A Kitchen Dance Party! 28" playlist.

And what product/song/whatever is rocking your world of late?

I wear the same perfume! So amazing, right? I'm all about Revlon Lip Butters, and Makeup Forever HD Foundation.

I am also INSANE about pens, so much so that I might go buy a pack of those tomorrow even though I have no real need for pens.

I also want to buy that CD, like now.

Have you ever had a perfume pencil. I'm in love with my Clinique Happy Heart pencil. Sigh.

YAY, I love posts like these! I owe so many of my Favorite Beauty Items to bloggers. I am pretty sure I am about to fall in love with that Nars lipstick. I wish it would give me lips like yours. Gorgeous hair color, too!

Roller balls are my favorite thing. Practical, easy, and such a nice price alternative to a bottle of perfume!

This post was too full of things that made me laugh - I can't point them all out.

What is it about lighthouses that gets to you?

My very favorite thing right now is a Sedu argan oil (THE ONE TRUE OIL), which is like MAGIC. It has a heat protectant, and it gives me the straightest, sleekest hair of my life (salon visit hair excluded). I can't shut up about it, either. I got it from folica - which I learned about from Whoorl!

Oh, and pens! The right pen is not only a joy to use, I find I actually make my handwriting nicer with it. I'm a black ink girl all the way, though.

Must get myself some lipstick. I've owned exactly one in my entire life and I've lost it somewhere.

NUMBER ONE WEBSITE for "sexy anthropomorphic West Side Story dance-fight." FOR ALL TIME. :-)

I also just discovered the Root Lift whatsit. I love it, but I don't like the sticky on my hands afterwards. Oh well, the price of volume...

I'm going to have to check out that Nars shade, because we have similar coloring. My new everyday lipstick is MAC Odyssey. I think it's the perfect plum.

Also, Revlon "dna" age-defying foundation. I hadn't worn foundation in years, but this has converted me. Everytime I wear it, I get compliments on my great skin. And I so do NOT have great skin.

Fun post!

I'm legitimately glad to know I'm not the only one who's a little bit crazy about pens. I MUST have a black Zebra 301 retractable pen on me at all times. At work, at home, in my purse, etc. You don't want to know how many of these I've bought in my lifetime.

Gonna have to check out the perfume. I have TOTALLY been creepy with one of my co-workers who wears a scent I love. I just kind of hang around her inhaling and exhaling deeply. Do you think she minds? Anyway, thanks for the suggestion, because maybe now I can wear a perfume on my OWN body and not get fired for being the office weirdo.
P.S. I want to come hang out with you again real soon (not just because I want to drink all of your iced coffee, either. i swear.)

Wow, I love the hair! So, so pretty. Also, thank you - I am in a real beauty slump lately and that lipstick looks like the perfect berry/pink shade. Do you have any undereye concealer recommendations? We have very similar colouring (ohgodIamnotastalkerIswear). Also, is it just me or is the name Baby Lips kind of, um, creepy? Like I can understand that 'baby soft' or 'baby skin' could be good names for products because baby skin is just soft and clean smelling and scrumptious, but baby lips? Really? Or is that just me? And I love Hello!

I too am insane about pens.

I've recently fallen for Fresh's Brown Sugar roller ball. Walk by and tell me I don't smell amazing. I DARE YOU.

I NEED a new pink lipstick (about as much as a hole in the head). But, I really Do. So, trip to Sephora this weekend!! Whoo.

My new hair color is the best thing I've bought lately. I'm also pretty obsessed with Kind bars and Rosebud Salve (OMG the Smell!).

I love pens!!! Currently, sharpie pens and papermate profile pens.

I adore my vanilla cupcake lip gloss and that song from the stupid Chevy sonic commercial.

Last summer I discovered Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Wild Ginger shampoo, conditioner and styling oil. My hair loves it and my hair smells amazing; which is a plus since I never remember to put on perfume. I also like that I can use the oil on my skin where it's really dry.

My new lip love is Lancome Juicy Tubes (although I wish they'd change the name because, ew) in Moulin Rose. It's a pretty pink and smells kind of like sweet rose; but it doesn't taste so I don't lick it off.

You were actually the person to introduce me to the H&S Hot Cinnamon Spice tea (on Twitter I think) a couple of years back. I LOOOOVE it and recommend it to people all the time, especially people who think they don't like tea. It's like drinking red hots, but in a good way! (Assuming you like cinnamon and red hots, of course.)

I think the Philosophy Amazing Grace always smells so good on other people, but for some reason when I've tested it out, I think I smell like old lady. That is not a scent I am going for.

I'm loving this (http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P285402&categoryId=S15115&shouldPaginate=true) tinted moisturizer as of late. I do not have time for foundation these days BUT I do need a bit of color when I leave the house, otherwise I'm mistaken for a ghost.

I was in serious need of retail therapy last week and this post was timed perfectly. I bought the baby lips (grapevine was WAY too purple for me, but cherry smash = perfection). Love the pen, still working on the process for the rootlift, but I think on the days that I don't wash my hair, it will be perfect.

I truly love it when you write a post like this because I am much the same in my need to spread the word. There is a funny story about the time I had every gal in the place buying up the holiday candle at the spa because it was so amazing. I am intrigued with the John Frieda (or anything that might give my fine hair hope) and have been hooked on Argan oil for several months now. Don't hate the argan oil. My latest obsession is Dior Addict Lip Balm. It is sheer and a different color for everyone and passes the scent test...divine. On me it is a perfect nude pinkish color. I am also listening to The Heartless Bastards repeatedly because I am seeing them live soon. :)
Best,
Tina
